ONAWAY MOTOR SPEEDWAY RULEBOOK

 

Limited Division

(Formerly Super Stock)

 

Chassis

 

 

1. Tubular A-arms allowed (uppers only).

 

 2.  Front subframes must be stock.  12" of subframe in front of upper a-arm and 18" rear of upper a-arm must be stock.  This allows for damage done to front clip. No box steel front subs allowed.

 

3. No quickchange rear-ends. Ford 9's, GM, Chrysler, only. No coilover - no coilover eliminators.  

 

4. Screw jacks allowed.

 

5. Sway bars may be adjustable.  

 

6.  Cars must maintain a minimum of 3 " clearance under lowest part of frame.  Car in question will be measured on cement pad.  May be checked after a feature so allow for a low tire.  NO EXCUSES

 

7.  Any added weight will not be mounted below frame rail, anywhere on car.

 

8. 4-wheel disc brakes allowed - dual master cylinders and aftermarket prop. valves OK.

 

9. Hood scoops allowed.  4" maximum height.  Subject to inspection.

 

10.  Rear spoilers allowed.  8" maximum height.  No side spoilers of any kind.

 

11.  Must have completely sealed front and rear firewalls.  Subject to inspection.

 

12.  No mirrors

 

13.  Racing wheels and 1" lugnuts mandatory in this class.

 

 

Engine and Driveline

1. NO 400 blocks, maximum CID 385.

 

2.  REMEMBER, no cutting, grinding, or port work

 

3.  Cast iron intake 4 bbl carb, aluminum intake 2 bbl carb.

 

4. 195 lbs maximum compression only. 

  

5. Aftermarket heads allowed, cast iron only. No angle plugs.  

 

6. All cylinder heads subject to inspection. See rule 3.

 

7.  Holley replacement type carbs allowed.  2 bbl Holley allowed with maximum 1" spacer.

 

 

8.  Camshaft maximum lift .500 measured from pushrod.

 

9.  Hydraulic lifters only - no roller or any type.

 

10. No roller cams.  No solid lifter cams.

 

11.  Roller rocker arms with 1.5 ratio only.

 

12.  Compression will be checked in any manner decided by tech or track owner.

 

13.  You may be asked to remove carburetor for inspection of intake and cylinder head to check for porting.  Refusal to do this after a feature will result in loss of points for the night.

 

14.  Exhaust: Headers allowed, mufflers required, balance pipe allowed, 3" maximum O.D. outlet, may not point directly at track. Exhaust pipes will be measured at random.  If your exhaust does not meet spec., loss of points for the night can be expected.

 

15. Multi-disc clutches allowed. Must be able to inspect!

 

16.  No aluminum blocks or heads.

 

17.  ENGINE MUST BE CENTERED BETWEEN FRAME RAILS.

 

18.  Racing transmissions allowed, with the exception of internal clutch type. See rule 16.

 

19.  Engine set back rule - GM left, Ford right.  Plugs to be aligned with top ball joint.

 

20.  Track owner reserves the right to tear down engine and/or driveline to inspect any part of race car for the sole purpose or promoting an even and fair racing field.

 

 

Weight

 

 1. Minimum weight after Feature 3000 lbs.

 

 

Tires and Wheels

 

 1. Racing rims and 1" lug nuts required.

 

2. No wide five.

 

3. 8" maximum rim width.

 

4. 265 Series treaded American Racer Tire.

 

 

General Rules

1.  Racing seats and belts mandatory and mounted properly.

 

2.  Full windshield mandatory.  Either factory glass or approved lexan ok.

 

3.  Roll cage must be 4-point with front hoop and 2 kickers to the rear minimum.  3 door bars minimum on drivers side.  Drivers side door must be plated in atleast 1/8" plate.  Passenger side door to have 2 bars minimum or you may use an X.  All roll cages are subject to safety inspections.  Any rollcages appearaing unsafe will not race until properly repaired.

 

4.  Repair or tape any jagged edges that occur during races.  Courtesy to fellow racers ... tires are expensive.  If it appears unsafe your risk not being allowed to race.

 

5.  Chain or cable front and rear for wrecker lift points required.

 

6.  Window net of approved type made for racing and mounted properly required.

 

7.  Fully charged fire extinguisher required;  and mounted properly.

 

8.  Fire suit and helmet of an approved type mandatory.

 

9.  Fuel cell painted red.  8" minimum clearance from ground to bottom of cell.  Must be mounted behind rear axle.

 

 

Miscellaneous

1.  Your car may be checked at any time by the track owner to ensure compliance of all rules.  This is to ensure that there is fair and competitive racing for everyone and puts on a better show for the fans.  If your car is legal the only thing you need to worry about is winning.

 

2.  Any protested cars must meet all rules.  Any part of the car not in compliance will result in loss of points and prize money for the night and you will be required to meet tech prior to the next race day.
